A few days ago, I shared a message about “God’s Plans vs. Our Plans.” As I’ve reflected on it, I realized I didn’t talk enough about God’s timing—an essential part of understanding His plans for our lives.
So often, we face challenges and feel like we need answers right now, believing everything will fall apart if we don’t get them. We approach God saying, “Here’s what’s going on—now what’s the answer?” But God doesn’t operate on our timeline. Instead, He gives us answers in His perfect timing.
Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us of this truth:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord. “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Isn’t that a beautiful promise? God knows the plans for your life, and He knows what’s best for you. But you might still wonder, When will those plans unfold?
Ecclesiastes 3:1 gives us insight:
“There is an appointed time for everything, and there is a time for every event under heaven.”
This verse tells us that everything in life happens according to God’s design. Every challenge we face and every answer we seek is part of His plan and has an appointed time.
Consider these examples from Scripture:
• Abraham waited 25 years for the son God promised him.
• Jacob waited 14 years to marry the woman he loved, enduring years of hard work and sacrifice.
• And most importantly, Jesus waited 30 years to begin the ministry that would fulfill His Father’s plan for salvation.
When we grow impatient with God’s timing, feeling like it’s taking too long, we need to remember these examples. Compared to their waiting, ours is often just a fraction of the time.
Isaiah 40:31 gives us a powerful encouragement:
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
What does it mean to “hope in the Lord” as we wait? It means trusting Him completely, knowing that His timing is perfect. When we place our hope in Him, He strengthens us, renews us, and enables us to endure the waiting without losing heart. God is never early, He is never late, He is ALWAYS on time.
Read this truth again:
GOD IS NEVER EARLY. HE IS NEVER LATE. GOD IS ALWAYS ON TIME.
Are you willing to trust God’s timing, or are you trying to rush Him into giving you the answers you want? Take a moment to reflect:
• Are you truly placing your hope in the Lord?
• Do you believe, deep down, that His timing is perfect—even when you don’t understand it?
Instead of rushing, choose to praise Him in the waiting. Honor Him by trusting His plan for your life. Let your faith grow as you wait for His perfect timing, knowing He is never wrong.
And if you don’t yet know Jesus and want to place your trust in Him, don’t wait another moment. Ask Him to come into your heart today. Pray, “Jesus, I trust You. I want You to lead my life. Forgive me for my sins and guide me in Your perfect plan.”
God’s plan for you begins with a relationship with Him. Trust Him today—and trust His timing always.
